About

Francis de Aguilar
UK, Exeter Devon

Bio: Hi my name is Francis. I have come late to writing poetry though I have been writing music for a while. I live in Devon, but hail from London. I am a person in long term recovery from chemical dependency. I have been a second hand car dealer, an antique dealer, a drug dealer, an antique restorer / furniture maker and an addictions therapist. I am currently retired, albeit rather unwillingly, and so I begin to explore my creativity. My writing appears to have a tendency toward the dark or the angry. My music is very varied, but can also be a bit melancholy at times. I am currently working on a couple of short stories and have in mind a book about recovery from dependency. I welcome any comments, critique and feedback.

  1. Do you mind if I quote a couple of your posts as long as I provide credit
and sources back to your blog? My website is in the exact same
niche as yours and my users would genuinely benefit from some of the information you present here.

Please let me know if this alright with you.

    Thanks a lot!

  2. Hello Francis, the blog is very varied in it´s format which I like. Very gripping the poem I heard through sound cloud. And glad you stumbled upon my crazy little blog. I myself have been in that world, the drug world, and have left my writing on a 10 year hiatus now recently returning back to it. I browsed a bit through some of your poetry which I´ll read now a bit more closely it does seem you go to the “dark side” which I don´t see anything wrong with it. It´s poetry, a form of self expression, should be that way at least that´s what the “experts” tell me. My opinion, there is no expert in this creative process, each to his own voice and you certainly have a very unique and interesting writing voice.
